Custom tick and grid positions

The following examples demonstrate how to create custom tick and grid lines.

Adding custom ticks

The example below simply adds two additional ticks.

Notice that if the ticks overlap (for example when zooming out) the maximum energy tick remains visible, as it has the larger importance.

An axis with only a zero tick

In the next example, the axis only shows the zero tick, which might be useful in situations where only the sign of a quantity is relevant. However, if the axis limits are chosen such the zero would not appear on the axis, the default ticks are shown.
